Montreal Supercross

Team Suzuki Rockstar Energy OTSFF’s Tyler Medaglia rose head and shoulders above the competition in the MX2 final at the Montreal Supercross on Saturday to take his second consecutive win of the event in front of some 45,000 rabid race fans.

The Kemptville, ON native, who recorded the fastest practice time on the demanding Olympic Stadium track, took command of the race on the first lap and never looked back. Medaglia was never threatened for position and by the time the ten laps were over he had placed his RM-Z250 a solid 21 seconds ahead of second place finisher Simon Homans.

OTSFF Riders at AMA in Southwick

Motokuhl-sponsored riders Tyler and Jeremy Medaglia took advantage of the off-weekend in Canada to see how they stack up against the best of the AMA in Southwick. Tyler was riding the Motocross class and went 23-16 for 21st overall. Jeremy was filling in the Yamaha Of Troy Lites team and 15-38 for 20th overall. The last race in the AMA series is at Steel City and we wish the Medaglia's the best of luck.

CMRC National #9 - Walton

The CMRC National series ended this weekend in Walton, ON marking the completion of the season for the Motokuhl-sponsored Factory Suzuki Rockstar Energy OTSFF race team. Tyler Medaglia finished off the end of the season with a 3-0 finish securing him a 3rd overall in the MX1 class. Mitch Cooke continued his strong rides with a 13-8 (8th overall) and 9th overall in the series. Brady Sheren was still on the sidelines with a broken hand but his points earned through the season netted him 17th overall in the class.
Jeremy Medaglia captured his first MX2 overall win with 3-1 finishes. Some bad luck in the last couple races dropped him down in the MX2 overall but a 5th overall in his rookie season is something to be proud of.
One last shout out to Jocelyn Killough who finished 4th overall in the Women's series --- not to shabby for a "replacement" rider for the injured Missy Hackett.
Special thanks to the OTSFF team, Andre Laurin and Brad Ewen for allowing Motokuhl to be part of a very successful season. Next up: the Montreal Supercross.

CMRC National #8 - Sand Del Lee

The penultimate round of the CMRC Nationals at Sand Del Lee in Richmond, Ontario proved to be a touch and go affair for Tyler and Jeremy Medaglia who, ironically, were racing on their home track. Both brothers suffered a DNF which proved to be a costly setback in the MX1 title hunt for Tyler and MX2 for Jeremy. Their teammate, Mitch Cooke, escaped the black cloud that hung over them by carding seventh overall on the strength of 6-8 motos in MX1.

In the final round of the Suzuki Women’s Championship, Jocelyn Killough finished sixth overall on the strength of 8-4, which saw the Aylmer, ON native claim fourth overall in the title hunt. Killough, who substituted for an injured Missy Hackett on Team Suzuki Rockstar Energy OTSFF, accumulated 173 points, six points shy of Blackfoot Racing Suzuki’s Jolene Van Vugt, who carded a third place ranking in the series.

There series wraps up this weekend at Walton.

RMDRA Hare Scramble

Congratulations to the Rocky Mountain Dirt Riders (RMDRA) for putting on such a great CMRC Hare Scramble last weekend in Mclean Creek. The event was Motokuhl-sponsored and the turnout was fantastic. A little hail the night before threatened to make the course epic but, in the end, the event was enjoyed by all participants.

CMRC National #6 - Castrol Raceway

A new stop on the CMRC National series, Castrol Raceway outside of Edmonton served up some great racing this past weekend. The Medaglia brothers were both able to podium for the Motokuhl-sponsored Factory Suzuki Rockstar Energy OTSFF race team.
In the MX1 class, Tyler Medaglia was 3rd overall on the strength of 4-3 finishes. Mitch Cooke was a solid 7th overall (8-8) and Brady Sheren 18th overall (13-DNF). Brady suffered a possible broken hand in the second moto from a first turn crash.
MX2 rider Jeremy Medaglia was also 3rd overall (2-6) and continues to climb back in the MX2 series standings. Jocelyn Killough was a consistent 6-6 for 6th overall.
Overall series standings will be posted when available our check out our Facebook page.

CMRC National #5 - The Wastelands

Motokuhl-supported Factory Suzuki Rockstar Energy OTSFF rider Tyler Medaglia continues to hold on to a slim lead in the MX1 class after Round #5 of the CMRC Nationals in Nanaimo, BC. This past weekend was a bit rough for the entire team with Tyler going 8th overall (10-5), Brady Sheren 12th overall (13-10) and Mitch Cooke 13th overall (14-13) at what is the last national at The Wastelands.
MX2 rider Jeremy Medaglia also became the victim of unfortunate mechanical problems scratching back for an 18th overall (0-13). Jeremy remains tied for 5th place in the MX2 overall with riders ahead well within reach.
The women's class was not contested in Nanaimo but will be in full effect this coming weekend at Castrol Raceway outside of Edmonton. This race may mark the return of Missy Hackett after her broken collarbone suffered in practice before Gopher Dunes. "Interim" rider Jocelyn Killough has been stellar in Missy's absence making for the best 1-2 punch in women's MX racing.

CMRC Nationals #4 - Moto Valley, SK

A perfectly manicured track outside of Regina was the venue this week for Round #4 of the CMRC Nationals. Tyler Medaglia continued on his quest for a #1 plate with 2-5 finishes (2nd overall) in the MX1 class. His lead in the series is down to 17 points as Colton Facciotti sweeps both motos for the third time this season. Tyler's teammates Mitch Cooke (10-10, 10th overall) and Brady Sheren (17-15, 15th overall) round out Motokuhl's MX1 contingent. The younger Medaglia, Jeremy, had his struggles in the MX2 class with 12-5 (9th overall) but still stands tied for 3rd in the MX2 series. MX2 series leader Eric Nye is starting to run away from the rest of the field but we know Jeremy has something for him at the remaining rounds. The Women's class returned to competition this weekend and fill-in rider Jocelyn Killough is proving that she is worthy on her factory ride with a 3-4 (3rd overall) finish. The series takes a two week break before starting up again in Nanaimo for round #5.

CMRC Nationals #3 - Morden, MB

Medaglia holds on to MX1 overall. Motokuhl-support Factory Suzuki Rockstar Energy OTSFF rider Tyler Medaglia went 3-2 for 2nd overall at Round #3 of the CMRC Nationals in Morden, MB. With this result, Tyler solidifies his lead in MX1 championship over Dusty Klatt. Tyler's MX1 teammates Brady Sheren (16-12, 13th overall) and Mitch Cooke (0-9, 16th overall) had their share of good and bad luck. MX2 rider Jeremy Medaglia stepped it up from the last round with a 4th overall based on the strength of 2-5 results. Jeremy currently sits in 2nd overall in the MX2 championship trailing Eric Nye. Round #4 takes the team to Moto Valley in Regina, SK this weekend where Motokuhl hopes to see our riders solidify their positions in their quest for #1 plates.
